Project Overview

Encuentro Marino is a seafood restaurant that needed an updated logo and menu design to better represent its authentic and vibrant culinary experience. The restaurant had an existing logo, but it was only available in low-resolution raster format, making it unusable for print or digital applications. Additionally, the menu required a clear, modern layout to improve readability while incorporating bold colours and imagery that reflected the restaurant’s atmosphere.

My Role

Brand & Visual Designer
Event branding and visual identity development, logo and supporting graphics, print and digital collateral design, layout preparation for promotional materials, and delivery of cohesive assets aligned to the event’s tone and audience.

Challenges

The most significant challenge was recreating the logo in vector format while staying true to the original design. The existing raster logo was heavily pixelated, making it difficult to trace accurately. Additionally, the menu needed to be easy to read, with a clear hierarchy that guided customers through the selections without overwhelming them.

Solution

To modernize the brand’s visuals and improve usability, I:

Rebuilt the logo from scratch in vector format, ensuring it remained crisp and scalable for all print and digital uses.
Simplified and refined the logo’s elements, removing any unnecessary noise while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
Designed a bold and colourful menu, featuring large, easy-to-read typography and high-quality imagery of signature dishes.
Utilized cultural influences, incorporating warm, inviting colours that reflect the lively atmosphere of the restaurant and its coastal roots.

Process

Logo Reconstruction – Blocked out the different elements of the existing raster logo and refined them into a clean, scalable vector format.
Menu Layout & Typography – Focused on creating clear sections with hierarchical text formatting to improve readability.
Colour & Imagery Selection – Integrated bright and inviting colours, complemented by large, high-quality food photography.
Final Refinements – Ensured the print-ready menu met all specifications for high-resolution output.

Results

The recreated vector logo is now fully scalable and ready for use across signage, digital platforms, and marketing materials.
The new menu design makes ordering easier for customers while enhancing the overall dining experience.
The restaurant’s branding now feels more refined, cohesive, and reflective of its lively atmosphere.
